I have wondered this many times! I highly enjoyed this read.
The one thing that keeps bothering me about Avengers Assemble - you remember that scene when Tony is carrying the nuke into the wormhole? I’m not denying it was heroic and amazing but like, did he really have to carry it all the way into space? Couldn’t he just YEET the bomb into the portal and tell Nat to close it? Thoughts? (I’m sorry it’s not thorki-related but it just keeps bugging me and I’d really like to hear your opinion, and if you don’t want to respond that’s completely fine ily 🖤)
I mean did a lot of what happened in Avengers Assemble really need to happen? Probably not, but it hit the plot points and character types and emotional points it needed to hit.
This is the big dramatic Disney sacrifice where the character does something incredibly brave and “dies” only to be survive! It wouldn’t have the story structure pay-off the audience expected if Tony just YEET-ed the bomb.
